Right when I get in the mindset to work out again and start eating super healthy, Emily is here to share a delicious recipe for Turtle Brownie Ice Cream Trifle. I guess I can wait to start my health kick until after I make one of these this weekend!
I’ll be back starting on Monday with your regularly scheduled bloggy programming {hopefully}. I’m still getting used to life with two little boys, but loving every second of it!! Thank you so much to all of the fabulous ladies that took over for me while I was away and also special thanks to all of YOU for sticking with me!
Hi, I’m Emily from 52 Mantels and I’m so excited to be here today, sharing my recipe for Turtle Brownie Ice Cream Trifle! I’m not a HUGE baker, but I love trifles for three reasons:
1) They make a pretty presentation, with little effort
2) They are YUMMY
3) And, the “trifling” possibilities are endless. Truly. Any favorite dessert can be re imagined into a trifle! If that sounds like a challenge, it is! Go forth and trifle 🙂
This trifle combines the deliciousness of turtle brownies with the cold, creamy appeal of ice cream. Making this the perfect dessert to serve during the Summer months. And, shhh…don’t tell, but I used boxed brownies.
Turtle Brownie Ice Cream Trifle
1 Box Brownie Mix (plus ingredients required for baking)
1 C Chopped Pecans
1/2 C Caramel Sauce
1/2 Gallon Vanilla Ice Cream, softened
1) Bake brownies according to box mix. Set aside to cool. 2) Crumble cooled brownies into big chunks 3) Layer 1/3 of the brownie chunks at the bottom of the trifle dish 4) Sprinkle 1/3 C of pecans over brownies and drizzle 1/3 of the caramel over pecans 5) Top brownie layer with 1/2 of the softened ice cream- use a spatula to smooth the ice cream layer over the brownie layer. 6) Repeat with the brownie chunks, pecans and caramel sauce 7) Add remaining ice cream and smooth layer with a spatula 8) Crumble the remaining brownie chunks into finer crumbles and place on top of the final ice cream layer. 9) Sprinkle remaining pecans and drizzle remaining caramel sauce. 10) Place trifle in freezer until ice cream is frozen solid (at least 4 hours, but overnight is even better!)
Seriously, this is so simple and so yummy! I hope you give it a try.
