I was sent the Mixed by Me-Hypercolor Thinking Putty Kit from Timberdoodle in exchange for my honest review of the product. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
I officially found one of the best rainy day activities to do with your kiddos! This will earn you cool mom points for sure, no matter if your kids are 5 or 15. It’s the Mixed by Me-Hypercolor Thinking Putty Kit by Crazy Aaron’s from Timberdoodle!
Putty vs. Slime
For a few years now, making and playing with slime has been very popular. I will be honest. This mama does not do slime. It’s SO messy. I probably just need a better recipe, but to be honest (again), I’d just rather not deal with it. Now, putty?! That’s another story with zero mess.
Long Lasting
Last Christmas, Santa brought Aaron’s Thinking Putty in the kid’s stockings, and we’ve enjoyed them ever since. You can imagine my excitement when I found out that Timberdoodle sells Mixed by Me-Hypercolor Thinking Putty Kits! I knew they’d be a huge hit, and the kids would be able to enjoy the putty they created for many months to come. Plus, it’s always more fun to create your own colors, right?
And like all Thinking Putty, every unique color created will never dry out. With five tins of clear putty, six color or special effect concentrates, an instructional mat, and customizable labels, all your child needs is a colorful imagination and some cool name ideas! Our putty from Christmas is still in perfect condition! We make sure to wash hands before and after use, to continue to keep it lasting long and germ free.
What comes in this kit?
- 5 small tins packed with clear Thinking Putty (you’ll need to twist the lid off to remove)
- 3 chiller concentrates
- 3 thriller concentrates
- 1 supply tin to hold all the concentrates
- colored pencils
- tin labels
- 1 instructional mat with suggestions for mixtures
I surprised the kids one rainy day last month after lunch with our own putty creating station, and every single day since then, they’ve pulled out their putty creations to play with during our read aloud time. It’s such a great way to keep their little hands busy and their ears listening.
There were enough tins for our whole family to join in, so the kids were eager to help their dad pick his chiller and thriller combination once he was done with work for the day.
Everyone’s had a wonderful time together, and they’ve enjoyed using their putty pretty much everyday since we created it.
