This is a sponsored post that I worked on in partnership with Timberdoodle, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are, as always, 100% my own.
We all know (and love) good old Wile E. Coyote and his best pal, the Roadrunner. My kids absolutely adore their cartoons and ask to watch them often. I knew, if my kids saw these books, they’d immediately snatch them up to being reading. Luckily I was able to keep them out of their sight until our morning read aloud time a few weeks ago. To say they were excited, is an understatement!
We received four short picture books as a set, titled Wile E. Coyote Physical Science. If you’d like to order them from Timberdoodle, you can find them here!
The topics covered include: Forces in Motion, Flight & Gravity, Speed & Velocity, and Simple Machines. We’ve been including them each morning as part of our read aloud time. Usually we’ll do about half of a book in one sitting. So after about a week and a half, we finished all four books together.
Are we now experts in physical science concepts?
NO!
Can my kids tell you word for word what concepts like force, motion, gravity, speed, and velocity mean?
NO!
Will they generally remember the concepts of force, motion, gravity, speed, and velocity?
YES!
My kids are young…9, 7, and 6. They are not going to remember every single scientific detail that is being explained in the Wile E. Coyote books, BUT they are going to remember the silly illustrations and the crazy situations that Wile E. Coyote gets himself into.
Will they remember the fun science books mom read about Wile E. Coyote?
YES!
They will remember that one time that mom read them some books about Wile E. Coyote when they’re older and actually learning those concepts as a physics student.
They’ll ask to reread them. (Spoiler: They already have.)
And that’s what is most important to me. I want them to have a memory of learning a concept when they were young and applying once they’re older. Overall, I’d say these books are a fantastic introduction to physical science concepts, perfect for young (and older) minds alike.
You can purchase these books as a set here OR they are included in the 2nd Grade Curriculum Kit from Timberdoodle here.

These books are so fun! I bought them a few years ago, and all of my kids enjoy them.
