I am SO excited that the holiday season is officially upon us. I LOVE Thanksgiving and all that it means…family, food, togetherness, reflecting on all I’m thankful for in my life…the whole shebang. BUT, when the day after Thanksgiving arrives, that’s when I turn into “buddy the elf” according to my husband. While many people are out shopping on black Friday, I’m busy getting several huge tubs of Christmas decorations down from our attic and having a Christmas explosion around the house. I also love this time of year because of all the fun opportunities to craft and create with my three kiddos. This year I’m as prepared as ever with a few cute projects from my friends at Oriental Trading.
These projects would be perfect for a number of occasions: class parties, family get-togethers, keeping little ones busy while meals are cooking…or simply just because {that’s a good reason too, my friends}. There is an abundant amount of fun Christmas and winter inspired crafts available at their site, and the few I happened to go with this year were super fun to work on with my little ones. All three of them enjoyed themselves and could successfully create each projects with minimal help from mom {thanks to the self-adhesive foam crafts I selected}. For reference, they are six, four, and three years old, and these are the crafts we selected to make this year:
Candy Tree Ornament Craft Kit
Holiday Characters Drinking Cocoa
Christmas Cupcake Characters Ornaments
The first craft we completed together was super fun and easy. We assembled the Candy Tree Ornament Craft Kits first. The little candy swirls fit perfectly in the tree cutout as did the star for the top. I LOVE that all of these kits were made with self-adhesive foam pieces. It’s great fine motor practice for my little ones, zero mess, and so easy for them to work on independently. They could even poke the cording through the pre-cut hole at the top to create their loop to hang each ornament. It was a great first craft to start out with for the day.
They loved the other two ornaments craft sets we chose as well.
They have so many different keepsake ornaments this year now, and of course insisted on putting all of them on their little bedroom Christmas trees. I’m not picking about ornament placement on these trees since they seriously redecorate them daily.
What kinds of Christmas crafts do you have planned this holiday season? For all things crafts, make sure to check in with Oriental Trading this year!
