I was provided product for the purpose of this post from my friends at Learn365. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
You guys. I just discovered a brand new section of one of my favorite companies, Oriental Trading. It’s called Learn365, and IT IS PERFECT for teachers, homeschooling moms {or dads}, babysitters, and parents. As most of you already know, I’m a homeschooling mom of three. While we are technically finished with our school year, starting next week my littles are definitely going to have at least an hour or so of organized learning time. Nothing tedious, nothing long…just enough to keep our brains working throughout the summer and keep up with everything we’ve learned together this past school year. We took two weeks off after our last day, and I can tell that they’re {secretly} ready for a tad more structure to their days!
Everything I’m sharing to keep those little ones occupied {independently for the most part I might add}, is listed and linked below from Learn365. If you aren’t familiar with the site yet, I’ve grabbed a quick screen shot of it to show below. You can access any of the Oriental Trading brands across the tabs at the top left of your screen.
I have all of these items stored at the back of my Homeschool Crate since it’s not overly full with curriculum materials at the moment, so it has worked out perfectly. My kids ADORE the Magnetic KidBoard.
It’s seriously the best, and I should probably just go ahead and order two more KidBoards. I showed them all of these activity sets the other morning after breakfast and they seriously sat and played and {shhhh….LEARNED} for nearly 45 minutes WITHOUT ARGUING and mostly WITHOUT my help. WHAT?!
My newly-turned-four year old and just-shy-of-three year old had a ball with the Shapes and Animals activity sets. They are smack in the middle of learning shapes and colors, and what kid doesn’t love animals?! My oldest {he’ll be six in July}, liked that he knew and understood the sets that his little brother and sister used the most. He took that opportunity to explain and teach concepts to them, and IT WAS AWESOME. His little teacher brain kicked into high gear, and he actually would ask them questions to help them come to their own answers! Such a great skill to have when helping others learn instead of simply telling the answers. So, while he clearly knows his shapes and pretty much all the questions asked about the animals, he applied his own knowledge to help them arrive at their answers.
My rising first grader enjoyed the Letter Sounds Set the most as he’s starting to truly understand how to combine letters to spell on his own. I could hear him sounding each word out as he went through each mat in the set. He also loved the Addition Set with the farm animals. This is a great review of basic addition…a skill he certainly has, but needs to arrive at more quickly.
Overall, these activity sets and the Magnetic Kid Board have been a fantastic addition to our summer learning routine. I know I will use them for years to come with all three of my kids. The fact that they have the ability to choose their boards and which activities they’re working on is the best. I know they enjoy having ownership of what they choose to work with when using the boards and mats. Plus, they’re SUPER durable. I know they’ll last! To see these boards in action, follow me on Instagram too! I’ve been breaking them out quite a bit over the past few weeks!
