We live in Georgia, and it’s been HOT. I’m talking we wish the pool would have opened about a month ago HOT. Well, the day finally came! Saturday, our neighborhood pool finally opened.

BUT

It was raining. And honestly kind of cold.

Go figure.

BUT…Sunday was supposed to be super hot and sunny and also…Mother’s Day. So, being the awesome mom that I am, I planned that we’d spend the afternoon at the pool for the first time this year. I made the mistake of telling my kids my plan on Saturday to wake up on Sunday to find out that no, we couldn’t go to the pool. Apparently the drain connected from the mushroom water feature was clogged. So clogged that it back up the flow of the drain, causing water to pull from the pool and DRAIN OUT!

I’m sorry….WHAT?!

This is why I don’t my kids plans before they absolutely are about to happen. You’d think I’d follow my own advice. Every time I forget this advice, something like this happens! Luckily, it took only 24 hours to refill the half of the pool that had drained. And also luckily Monday was equally as hot and sunny and gorgeous as Sunday.

So, Monday, we finally headed to the pool for our first pool day of 2017 with our brand new Trolls Dive Characters. {I’ve had these tucked away for a while now, and the kids pretty much have begged me to open them for nearly two months…imagine their shock when I actually let them open the packaging and take their precious trolls out to use at the pool}.

My oldest can swim and dive down for toys, so these are now his new favorite thing. He lets his brother and sister throw them for him, and he goes down to get them.

My two little ones love to pretend and play with them as well, and have even dabbled in “diving” for them on the second and third steps. I like this because it’s encouraging them to get their faces in the water and helping them to be more comfortable.
