Yesterday I shared a super simple and oh-so-fun Lego Brick Valentine’s Day box. My boys adore Legos, and this was the perfect choice for them this year. Luckily it was also SO easy and fast to make! I couldn’t leave my littlest out of the Valentine’s Day fun. Her current love is all things Mickey and Minnie Mouse, so for her, I created a Mickey inspired box that was even easier than the Lego boxes.
To make a Mickey Mouse Inspired Valentine Box, you’ll need:
DIY white Valentine card box | black and red acrylic paint | hot glue gun | foam hearts | black craft foam | Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine
To give the box the “Mickey” look, I decided to paint the bottom part red and the lid black. Again, just as before with the Lego box, it required two coats of paint for a nice, even look. I do want to suggest {again} that you could also use a red and black wrapping paper to simply wrap each part as well. I happened to have the paint on hand, so this was just an easier choice for me in the long run! And, I like EASY.
One of the most defining characteristics of Mickey are his ears. Using black craft foam, I traced around a coffee mug and cut out two identical ears. I attached them to the back of the lid with a bit of hot glue.
Once the paint dried, my oldest helped punch out some of the white foam hearts from Oriental Trading. This don’t come as a sticker, so I used hot glue to secure them to the front of the bottom portion of the box. You could also use regular old school glue, but it would take longer to dry!
Using my Cricut, I chose a cute font and cut out my daughter’s name to stick onto the top of her Valentine box. She helped me out with this part since she loves playing with stickers.
Now she’s also got a cute Valentine’s Day card box to collect all of the sweet treats and cards she’ll receive next week!
AND!!
Look at these sweet little Owl Lollipop covers we made to hand out to friends as well…
All the foam pieces for this set are self adhesive {LOVE this for little ones}. All three of my kids {ages 5, 3, and 2} helped to make a dozen little owls after naps one afternoon.
I mean…how adorable are they?!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
