I received free products for review purposes from Oriental Trading, a company that I adore and trust, especially for holidays like Thanksgiving. All opinions, as always, are 100% my own.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I’m sure for many of you, this may be the last week of school before you get a week off for the holiday {at least that’s how it’s been the past few years here in Georgia}. This year, our Thanksgiving will be small with just our family of five and my in-laws. I love that we’ll all be able to fit around our table, enjoy each other’s company, and have some delicious Thanksgiving food! My three littles have taken on a recent love of coloring, so I wanted to have some fun coloring placemats for them {and who am I kidding, the adults} to enjoy while we give thanks this year. I was inspired by several cute turkey craft packages offered by Oriental Trading and came up with some really fun ideas!
To build the exact Turkey Crayon Cups that I’ve created, you’ll need two things from Oriental Trading…
Turkey Clothespin Magnet Craft Kits | Chocolate Brown Favor Gift Boxes
Yes, the turkey I chose is actually part of a clothespin magnet craft kit, but that turkey was just TOO cute not to use. Plus, now I’ve got extra clothespins and magnets for a future craft project. It’s okay not to use all the materials!
To assemble, I followed the directions and LOVED that it was all peel & stick! It was so easy and so fast. The feather portion of the turkey was one large piece. I attached it to the back of the treat box, with the colorful side facing what will become the front of the crayon holder. Then the turkey body, beak, hat, and feet were attached to the front of the treat box.
I also used a small piece of tape inside the box itself, just to make it a bit sturdier to support a box of 24 crayons.
They turned out so cute, and could not have been easier to assemble. I also found these super cute color-in placements to share with our guests on Thanksgiving Day.

Cute idea for teacher gifts with a treat added. OTC has already sold out when I went to buy. 🙁

That would be cute! Were they out of the little brown container? You could always use a brown cup or even a kraft paper colored bag or cup as well!
