May 2st cannot come soon enough. It’s HOT, and this mama {and definitely more so}, my kiddos are ready for some pool time! I’m longing for the days of a daily trip to our pool as we’re currently spending those mornings dripping with sweat before lunchtime at the neighborhood playground. I’ve got our pool bag ready, sunscreen purchased, and several products form SwimWays, including the SwimWays Baby Spring Float packed and ready to go for our first official day of the pool opening, May 21st. That also happens to be “National Learn to Swim Day”!
What better month to begin to raise awareness on pool and water safety with children than during the month of May when most of our pools {finally} open again for the start of the swimming season? I love that SwimWays has made it one of their missions to continue to educate parents and caregivers nationwide about the importance of water safety with our precious little ones. With summer right around the corner, learning this invaluable life skill is even more essential for fun as well as for safety. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages one to 14. If we work together to promote the importance of swimming, we can improve this scary statistic and make water wonderful for everyone.
How can YOU celebrate National Learn to Swim Day?
Visit a community pool as a family – and remember to pack a picnic.
Take a few minutes to tell your local lifeguard how much you appreciate them.
Host a group swimming lesson at your local pool.
Still too cold to swim outside? Grab a float and a swimsuit and practice some silly splashes in the bathtub.
Start your own Learn-to-Swim Celebration. Contact your local pool, waterpark or community center and help organize a fun event.
Visit a local library and check out a book about famous Olympic swimmers.
Why do I trust SwimWays?
- SwimWays is a leader in helping children learn to swim and promoting water safety as evidenced by the 5th annual National Learn to Swim Day on May 21, 2016.
- The company actually started National Learn to Swim Day in 2012 and is dedicated to educating parents and children about water safety and the importance and benefits of learning to swim.
- They’re encouraging parents and caregivers nationwide to celebrate this special day in their own way. As pools open across the U.S in May it is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of water safety are teaching children to swim.
- The SwimWays Baby Spring Float is, I think, the single best float on the market today for little ones; it’s the perfect product to introduce baby to the water for the first time.
Next time I share about our SwimWays Baby Spring Float we will be smack in the middle of summer and enjoying our local pool! I just can’t wait! We’re definitely ready to go as I just got our Baby Spring Float inflated and ready!
There are two rings, an inner and and outer section, to blow up. I did this myself, and it took no time at all. Easiest inflatable pool item I’ve ever blown up. Then I attached the sun shade portion over the top of it with the easy button snaps. There are two on either side and a loop at the back to snap it in place.
I know my littlest will love spending time with her big brothers in the pool this summer, and I’ll feel good knowing she’s in a reliable SwimWays Baby Spring Float.
