When I throw birthday parties I like to put a little bit of confetti on the dessert table and the area where I usually set up our party favors and guest book. In the past I’ve either just bought some at the craft store or made my own using a hole punch of some sort. This year, I new my Cricut Explore™ would be the perfect tool for the job.
To make your own party confetti, you’ll need:
The Cricut® Tools Spatula
colored cardstock {in your party’s theme}
For the confetti I did two things. First, I made a single layer {essentially the outline} of a few monsters that I found in Design Space. You’ll notice that I also chose to write out two words and “welded” them together so that the letters were connected.
I’m going to walk you through the process of welding words together, since it was something that I had to teach myself in order to successfully cut my confetti.
After welding my word, I then sized it down significantly smaller and duplicated it quite a few times. When it was time to cut the confetti, I had an entire page full of either “henry” or “happy birthday” confetti. Using the spatula tool made the process of getting each individual piece of confetti off of my mat a breeze. Until the party, I simply stored everything in a plastic baggie.
It turned out great and was just what I had envisioned it to be!
