In a few short weeks, my third pregnancy will come to an end. And while there are definitely things I will miss about being pregnant {feeling those mid-day baby hiccups for example}, I’m pretty sure having our new baby here will be much better! I also know that I’m going to be completely exhausted, underfed, and probably wearing pj’s and yoga pants for a solid 2-3 months right outta the gate.
When any of my friends have had babies I’ve always tried to take or send a little something not only to welcome the new baby, but to help make mama feel a little more human again. Recently I put together this quick and easy New Mama Gift…
It’s got some new mom essentials and a sweet gift for baby as well…
I sewed a set of three handmade baby burp cloths using tri-fold cloth diapers. I like to buy the THICK ones and I’ve only had luck finding these at Target.
I used a wooden tag I had in my craft closet and added some coordinating washi tape to the bottom to dress it up a bit…
Then I tied mama and baby’s gifts with some jute twine, added a magazine for mom and sent it off!
Some other fabulous gift ideas for any new mama are:
Homemade freezer meals: write the directions on the foil, so re-heating is a breeze and hassle free! {Try to branch out from the typical pasta dishes…new mom’s get lots of pasta for some reason}.
Gift Cards: grocery store, a local restaurant, Babies R Us…you name it, a new mama will definitely appreciate it!
Wine: it’s been 9 months y’all…no explanation needed!!
Lunch: I know I already mentioned freezer meals, but it’s also nice to bring a lunch to any new mom {especially after dad has gone back to work}. Sometimes we forget to feed ourselves!
