I’ve got more fun Monster Themed Birthday ideas for you today, and this one can be used and modified for any theme or color scheme you’ve got planned for your little one’s party.
To make a birthday celebration wreath, check out this post from last year when I actually made the wreath itself. You can use any color curling ribbon to fit your party’s theme. I went with bright, primary colors and have gotten to use it two more times since the Car & Truck Party last year!
Since I used it this year for a monster themed party, I “monster-fied” it by adding a few monster eyes. I used a 2″ circle punch for the whites of the eyes and a 1″ circle punch for the black pupils. Simply glue those together with a regular old glue stick and use a dab of hot glue to secure it to a ribbon curl on the wreath. *Note* The eyes will pop right off, so you can totally use the wreath again and again, for multiple birthdays and themes!
Since last year’s wreath was for a 2nd birthday, I needed to change my number to a 1. I used several Americana Satin finishes by Deco Art to add some fun polka dots. A small, circular foam pouncer was perfect for the larger dots and the flat end of some wooden skewers worked great for some tiny ones!
Now, if I wanted to call it a day and simply change the number on the wreath, I was ready…
But, since I had already prepped and glued my monster eyes, I wanted to see how a few would look against it, and I couldn’t possibly have loved the outcome anymore! It was so fun and a great compliment to the other monster themed decorations I created!
