Today’s post is sponsored by Huggies, a company I trust and use daily with my little ones. All opinions are 100% my own!
I’m coming up on three years of being a mom, obviously by no means an expert {I wonder at what point you can say that you are, if ever}, but I’d like to think I’ve got a pretty good grasp on a handful of tips and tricks I swear by.
1. Buy baby essentials online.
For real.
You will love this.
I promise.
While it’s fun to take a trip to the store with my two little guys every once in a while, with both of them in tow, there aren’t many spots to store the boxes of Huggies diapers I typically need to purchase.
On this particular day, I had to entertain the toddler with a popcorn and icee bribe and luckily little man was fast asleep, however his car seat took up my prime diaper storage area. Let’s just say the boxes kept sliding out from under the cart every 20 seconds or so.
Enter diapers{dot}com…their diapering products include more than 1,411 items {I’d say they’ve got us Super Mom’s covered}. You’ll get great prices on all products. No lines. No heavy bags. No driving. Just the products that keep your life in balance, conveniently shipped to your door faster and easier than any errand you’ve done before. And the best part, they’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
And as for Huggies, don’t even get me started. They are seriously the best diaper. Hands down. I’ve never had an issue. I might even be a little sad on the day that I don’t have to buy them anymore. Maybe.
Huggies Little Movers Diapers have a NEW design that includes Double Grip Strips that fasten at four points, for a better fit that provides your baby with a hug that lasts. The SnugFit Waistband helps the diaper stay in place, and with their absorbent LEAK LOCK® Technology your baby gets up to 12 hours of leak protection {perfect for a peaceful sleep through the night}. And of course, their little baby bums will look super adorable sporting your pals {and mine} Mickey and Minnie!
2. Spend some time each week to meal plan for your family.
Yes, it takes time.
Yes, it can get repetitive.
Yes, you will sometimes have a meal planned and meat thawed and just not feel like cooking and end up at McDonalds, BUT…
I promise if you start meal planning, this will lead to a more organized grocery shopping trip {try to avoid taking the kiddos to get groceries also}, more healthy, home cooked meals, and a happier family. For meal planning tips and tricks, check out this post!
3. Take advantage of free or inexpensive activities for your kids.
At least two or three times a week, I make it a point to get up, get myself and the kids dressed and get out of the house before anyone needs a nap. Especially during the summer, there are so many events and activities around our town that are either absolutely free or super inexpensive.
Some of our favorite get outta the house activities include: story time at the library, a trip to our neighborhood pool, the local splash pad {ours cost $2 per kid}, trips to the park {definitely a morning activity because it’s HOT}, playdates with friends, you get the idea, right?
The trick is, get up, get them fed, get outta the house and tire their little bodies out. That way, when you all come home they are more than ready for a nice long summer afternoon nap and us Super Moms can have a few moments of peace {to do our online diapers{dot}com shopping and other fun things like going to the bathroom in private and sitting down to eat a meal}!
4. Accept the fact that every square inch of your house will not be clean at the same time.
And IT’S OKAY! Yes, us Super Moms do need to clean the house and wash dishes and do laundry, but don’t make it a daily stress in your life. I’m a firm believer in cleaning a room or area at a time. Usually I dust mop our hardwoods daily {we’ve got dogs and I’ve got little ones all over the floor}, and our kitchen counters are always cleaned after meals, but as far as the other stuff, I take care of it as needed and sort of lumped together. If I feel like it’s time to tackle a bathroom, I usually pay attention to all of them. If it’s time to dust furniture in our bedroom, I’ll take care of all the dusting on that level of the house. You get the idea.
One day the messes will go away.
And you’ll miss them {or so I’m told}.
5. Keep a candy stash in your purse {suckers for the kids chocolate for you}.
I rarely venture into public without a couple of Dum Dum’s in my purse or the diaper bag. In fact, if I do, I sometimes freak out and usually pray that I won’t need them on that particular day. If you’re one of those moms that has never given your little one any kind of sugar or candy…what’s your secret?!
Now that you know some of my tips, not only would I LOVE to hear some of yours, but I’m also excited to share a super awesome deal with all of you diaper buying mamas today!

I agree with many of your tips here! The candy stash in my purse has saved my skin many times while out and about with the babies. It has also helped keep my own mouth busy with a snack instead of loosing my patience.

Fabulous tips!!! I love your tip to accept every square inch of your house won’t be clean at the same time – my kids are older and my home is still that way!!! 😀

My mom is always telling me one day I will miss the mess and the noise…..I’m sure it’s true but I can’t see it right now. lol However I do love your tips, we {I} am trying to get much better about getting out of the house early in the morning so that the kids can get out of the house. We also LOVE to have a craft day {morning} were we only do kids crafts instead of mommy crafts. 😉

I agree with EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE!!! Also, when you do have to make a trip to the store park next to the cart corral (its worth the risk of dents and dings) so you don’t have to lug the baby seat all the way into the store. You can just plop them right down in a cart from the corral!!

Interestingly enough, these tips are similar to having pets. Except keep dog treats in the purse. LOL! ;D
