Remember a few weeks ago when I shared my goodies from Consumer Crafts? Well, all the jewelry making tools and beads inspired me to start making jewelry for myself. I decided to start with some beads that I actually already had. The reason I had them is that a sweet friend gave them to me {in the form of a bracelet} on my birthday. Well, my toddler got a hold of it and, well, it kind of exploded.
Luckily I saved the beads and decided to add my own faith charm that I got from Consumer Crafts to make a 2.0 version of my first turquoise bracelet.
To make your own version, you’ll need:
.5 mm Stretch Magic cord
turquoise beads
silver cross accent
FAITH accent {from Consumer Crafts}
2 white pearls
scissors
Now, like I mentioned, this is my first stab at jewelry making. I’m guessing I started out pretty much as easy as you can get. There isn’t a whole lot of technique involved in stringing beads, cutting cord, and tying a knot!
Before I tied the bracelet off, I measured it against my own wrist so as not to have too many or too few beads. To tie the bracelet, I simply tied a single knot then tied once more, and a third time too.
And voila!
My first bracelet!
I really love the details of the “back” side of it too!
I’m loving my new turquoise & silver faith bracelet. They have other word options as well: peace, love, and joy. What would you have chosen?
