Ever since I first saw this idea from Shannon at Sewing Barefoot linked up at The Creative Connection party a few months ago, I was eager to put together my own mini card binder. As I’ve mentioned before, I come from a long line of “card givers”, and what better way to always be prepared for card giving than putting together a binder stocked full of awesome Hallmark greeting cards from Walmart?!
The Hallmark Birthday Card selection {and pretty much any occasion you could imagine} is awesome at Walmart!
I mean, come on. If you can’t find the card you need in that aisle…something is up, people!
While I was browsing the selection at Walmart, I came across some perfect cards for upcoming birthdays and knew they’d be a great way to start my greeting card binder.
To keep up with all the birthdays and other special events throughout the year, I do a number of things. I like to look on Facebook at the beginning of each month to see who has a special day coming up. I then write them down in my planner because that thing goes EVERYWHERE with me and then I make a note of it in my new greeting card binder.
Usually I don’t give a birthday gift to every single person that I send a card to {I just don’t have the bank roll for that}! But I don’t think there’s anything nicer than getting a card on your birthday and maybe a handmade gift or some cookies. It’s nice to just be remembered on your special day!
If I’m hand delivering the card I like to take the time to make the envelope look bright and colorful. If I’m mailing it, I tone it down a bit!
What is inside my greeting card binder? Well, I mentioned before that I bought a mini binder to use for this particular project. I chose this size for two reasons, one, it’s the perfect size for a greeting card and two, it might be the cutest thing ever!
Inside the binder I’ve got 5 tabbed sections, one for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Thank Yous, Miscellaneous, and Stamps. Behind each tab there are a few sheet protectors that I can slide the cards and envelopes into and in the very back I’ve got lined paper to organize important events for each month. So, at the beginning of each month, I check Facebook to make sure I’ve got all the important dates written down and pull cards accordingly.
It’s easy to keep my greeting card binder fully stocked with great deals from Hallmark. I browse their selection at Walmart pretty much every time I head to the store.
How do you keep track of important birthdays? Are you a habitual greeting card giver like me?

I keep my cards in a box where they can stand and have dividers separating the occasions. It works perfectly! You can’t go wrong with a binder either. I love snail mail… wish it wasn’t such a thing of the past. HUGS!

That’s a great idea! I used to have a card binder as well but I’ve definitely slacked off in recent years.
