I’ve teamed up with a few other sweet ladies to bring you SIX ideas to use that leftover Halloween candy that will soon inhabit our pantries in less than 10 days now. You know you’re going to want to pin this one!
Yes, I realize that Halloween has not come and gone yet, but I want you to be prepared.
You know your kids are going to come home with huge bags of candy.
You know it would be wrong to let them hoard it all for themselves.
You know that candy isn’t good for you and either is ice cream.
BUT
If you’re going to eat it, you might as well put the two together!
Here’s what you’re going to do.
After Halloween, when you’ve got loads and loads of candy just laying around and your kiddos beg to have a sleepover or a play date {or whatever form of having friends over that your kiddos partake in these days}, you’re going to grab the fun size candy bars, some yummy sugar cones, a handful of chocolate chips, and your favorite ice cream to have a little ice cream cone bar.
I used a sharp knife to chop up different candy bars and put the pieces into separate bowls. I then melted a small bowl of semi-sweet chocolate chip morsels. To get the candy pieces to stick to the rim of the cone, I first dipped the cone in the melted chocolate then pressed it into the candy of my choice.
To get the candy and chocolate to harden a bit, I put the cones on some parchment paper in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Once the chocolate hardened, the cones were ready for ice cream!
YUM!
If you’re more of a bowl of ice cream kinda person, you could totally still used chopped up candy pieces as toppings as well!
What about you? What do you like to do with all that left over candy?
