If you’ve got a birthday party coming up, this is one easy project you could whip up in less than half an hour! If you recall from my little guy’s first birthday, I made a photo banner with a picture from each month leading up to the age of one. I loved it so much, and our party guests enjoyed seeing how much he grew over that first year, so I knew I wanted to make another one for his second birthday party.
To make your own, you’ll need…
Birthday Photo Banner
one photo representing each month
colored cardstock
corner rounding paper punch
double sided tape
jute twine
mini clothespins
curling ribbon
Note: I love to send my photos to Target when I’m in a hurry and need them quickly. Their one-hour photo lab usually prints them in less than half an hour or so.
This is pretty straightforward. I started by using the corner rounding paper punch on all of my photos and the cardstock I’d be using. Luckily I found pre-cut cardstock that was perfect for 4 x 6 photos! And, if you don’t own a corner rounding paper punch, I highly suggest picking one up with a coupon next time you’re at the craft store. It’s seriously one of my most favorite tools!
Once everything is rounded, simply attach each photo to the cardstock with a few strips of the double stick tape. Obviously you could use glue dots or a glue stick as well. Anything works!
From there, I hung a piece of jute twine the length of my stairway and attached the photos to it using mini clothespins.
I then added a few ribbon curls in the party colors throughout the banner to give it some more texture.
Seriously, how sweet is that face?! He makes my heart melt.

This is very cute! 🙂 I would love to do this for my little one and put it up in my basement, it’s fun and very pretty to look at how much they’ve grown up!
