In today’s day and age of tablets, smart phones, Pinterest, and blog reading, you’d think that actually picking up a book or magazine is a dying past time. While I’m sure some people have abandoned the printed word {shame on you–sorry, inner teacher coming out}, I for one have not and cannot. I love to read and try to have my hands on a book or magazine as often as possible. Recently, while shopping at my local BJ’s Wholesale Club, I stumbled across a magazine that I’d never seen there before, but I’m so glad I found it.
No, I didn’t want to read about Jen’s Wedding Disaster or Hillary’s scandal/cover up…I got my hands on the July issue of All You Magazine so this mom of a one month old can learn how to kick start her metabolism and drop pounds easily!
As a mom on a budget and huge fan of couponing, All You is the perfect magazine. I don’t buy magazines often, but for a cover price of $2.99 and over $30 in exclusive coupons and deals, buying All You more than pays for itself. PLUS, there are so many awesome articles that completely relate to my life {and I’m sure a lot of you} including new recipes, DIY projects in the home, and your health.
One article that I was THRILLED to see involved a Craft Challenge between two bloggers {that I’m sure many of you would recognize}. They were challenged to create a project with an aluminum can that involved three steps or less for under $5! The best part?! One of those said bloggers is actually a friend of mine!!
Health Articles
From this issue in particular though, I was immediately drawn into a health article on tricks to eat right and lose weight. Many of you know, I just had a baby, and I’m excited to start taking a better look at my diet and get back to the gym this month. The article I found had a diagram of a refrigerator and gave tips on how to stock it so you eat better and smarter.
The three main things I took away from the article were:
1. Put water front and center! Maybe add some fresh fruit to a pitcher to give it a little flavor.
2. Prep produce by cleaning, cutting, and creating portion sized baggies. This makes smart snacking on the go much easier.
3. Pick diet-friendly condiments such as hummus, horseradish, and yellow mustard. {As a ketchup loving girl, this one will be tough.}
Find out what stores near you carry All You magazine and download a coupon to use on your next issue!

I was just chatting with my SIL about how I need to start prepping produce as soon as we bring it home from the grocery store so it doesn’t get buried and go bad. This is a great reminder for me to get on that!

I love the prepped produce!! I just ordered a glass water bottle so I can have one on hand all the time and not have to worry about the nasty BPA in some of the plastic ones. Thanks for the healthy tips and reminders! I need them for sure.:)

What a great magazine. I’m also super jealous! We used to have a BJs here and it closed about 8 years ago. I’m now a Costco shopper so I’ll have to see if they carry All You magazine!

I actually have this magazine, and had gotten it for the coupons, but realized the coupons aren’t as much use to me – we just don’t use those products. But the tips and articles are awesome!
