This American Flag Plaque is perfect to add some 4th of July spirit to your mantel this week. This post is sponsored by American Crafts, however, as always, this project and opinions are 100% my own! I was thrilled to have the chance to craft with these amazing products!!
I’ll be the first to admit, since having a baby, I’ve hardly had time to work on any fun crafts or projects. Luckily my mom is here for a couple of weeks, and I was able to play with these awesome glitter products by American Crafts to create a super cute and very festive American Flag Plaque to get our home 4th of July ready this year!
Fortunately I had everything I needed at home to create this unique decor, including the plaque and frame holder {both purchased at a craft store several months ago on sale}.
Just look at all these glittery goodies American Crafts sent my way!
Supplies you’ll need:
American Crafts Glitter Cardstock in red, white & blue patterns and colors
American Crafts Glitter Tape White
American Crafts Glitter Tape Red
American Crafts Thickers Foam Letter Stickers
decorative plaque
frame holder
ruler
scissors
double sided tape
Now, there wasn’t much rhyme or reason to how I created the plaque. I measured out the stripes and the blue area for the star field first. With the exception of not actually including any stars, I wanted the rest of the flag to look as realistic as possible. You know the drill, 13 stripes, 7 red, 6 white. I used a combination of glitter cardstock and the glitter tape {which is so cool} to create the stripes.
I used a really cute glitter, polka dot piece of the blue cardstock for the star field and finished off the plaque with the foam letter stickers to spell out “Home of the Brave.”
I love how it looks on the bar in my kitchen!
What have you done to decorate for the 4th of July this year?!
