When creating gifts for certain holidays, as a blogger, I sometimes run into a bit of a predicament. I LOVE to share my ideas with all of you of course, but I also don’t want to ruin the surprise for the person getting the gift. Hence my two post-Mother’s Day gift ideas. If you recall, I shared this Mosaic Tile Stepping Stone a few weeks ago that Jackson and I made for his grandmother.
Well, since his other grandmother lives a good 12 hours away by car, I decided that making a stepping stone and shipping it was just out of the question. Instead, I opted for a much lighter gift, a
Mini Brag Book
I originally got the idea for the brag book a while ago from one of my favorite blogs, Simply Kierste. She’s seriously one crafty gal and always has the cutest ideas! For the most part, I honestly just followed her tutorial, so head on over there and tell her I sent you!
The entire process to make a mini brag book is pretty self-explanatory after you’ve gathered the right supplies {and I bet you’ve got most of them on hand already}.
Supplies
name badge holders {2.55 x 3.35 horizontal}
silver 1 inch book rings
scrapbook paper, cardstock
desired embellishments
ribbon
Now, all you really need to do is cut your desired scrapbook paper and/or cardstock to fit the front and back covers of your brag book. I went with four different papers {one for each of the outside covers and inside covers}.
I also embellished with a strip of solid cardstock and a “G” for “grandkids” since she’ll soon be the proud grandma to two sweet babies.
Inside, I included one picture of my little guy and left the rest of the pages blank for her to fill with her favorite pictures. I then finished it off by tying some coordinating ribbons to the book ring.
It’s the perfect size to carry around in her purse, and she can pull it out anytime she misses those sweet faces or wants to do some bragging!
Go ahead and pin the idea for next Mother’s Day! I think it would also be a great gift for many other holidays as well though!
I’ll be linking up at these parties!
