I’ve decided to start a Pinterest related series on the blog each week called {favorite pins friday}. After a long week of cleaning, cooking, taking care of my little guy, tending to the garden, doing a project or two, and of course blogging, it’s nice to sit down and just do some pinning 🙂
I’m thinking sometimes there will be a theme and sometimes it might just be random. This week, I’m going to focus on some Father’s Day gift ideas (since Mother’s Day is now over). Speaking of Mother’s Day…my first one was wonderful! Jackson actually slept until 9am (something he’s NEVER done), he took his first steps, and he Shane got me a sewing machine! The best part of the day was by far those first little steps! Here’s a quick photo of my little guy and me before we headed to lunch! He’s teething, can you tell?!
Okay, on to some super cute ideas for the fathers in your life 🙂
{Father’s Day Photo Journal}
{Source}
Design Aglow featured this totally cute photo album/journal for kid’s to share their fondest memories about their dads. I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly getting coupon codes for discounted and sometimes free photo books from Shutterfly. You could totally use Ashley’s idea and create your own version on Shutterfly! If Shutterfly isn’t your thing, you could always make a scrapbook (make sure to use those 40% off coupons to Michael’s or JoAnn’s or where ever your little heart desires)! I think this would be a really fun activity for kiddos that have learned how to write. It might be a fun gift to give a couple times throughout a father’s life to see how their kid’s answers change over time!
{In Daddy’s Shoes}
Staci at Craftify It created a sweet photo collage of her adorable boys wearing their father’s shoes, ties, and button up shirts. Let me tell you…this idea is so stinkin’ cute! I think my little guy might be a tad too tiny for this one yet, but I’ll definitely try this in the future! She also included a sweet poem that her friend Debbie wrote!
{Pop Box Set}
Kristyn of Lil Luna created this awesome pop (for you southerner’s coke) bottle set! If you have a dad that likes to snack (while watching TV or sitting at the office) this is a great gift idea. All you need is a 6 pack of your favorite soda (drink it all first and clean out the bottles), spray paint, embellishments to decorate the bottles, and some yummy treats to fill them with! I’ll let Kristyn handle the rest with her tutorial. This gift is really great for any occasion or person!
{Baseball Hand Print Keepsake}
{Source}
Kate of The Gaines Gang used this baseball hand print as a Christmas Gift of her then 2 month old son’s little baby hand print. How precious is this? I think this is such a sweet idea for fathers and grandfathers, especially if baseball is a big sport in your family! You could do it with any piece of sporting equipment really. So if football is your thing, grab one of those instead! I’m thinking of doing something like this for my little guy’s first birthday since we’re going with a baseball/4th of July theme!
{Man Bouquet}
You may remember awhile back when I posted the Man Bouquet. Most men don’t really want flowers (I guess some might, but I’m sure they’d rather have booze and snacks). It’s probably not completely appropriate for a little kid to make one of these for his dad, but it might be fun once you’re an older “kid” (of legal drinking age :)) to whip one of these up for your dad! For the full tutorial, click here!
There you have it! My first {favorite pins friday}! If you made the list, feel free to grab the featured button at the bottom of my page ! All featured pins will be on my {favorite pins friday} pin board!
Enjoy!
Please leave a comment, I love to hear from my readers.

I was wondering if you did the handprint baseball? If so, what ink did you use and did you seal it with anything? Thanks!!!

Well, I’ve tried to do it, and it was the most difficult thing ever! I think it should be done either when babies are super young, sleeping (but who wants to risk waking a sleeping baby), or old enough to understand and listen to your instructions! My husband and I tried last weekend and we just painted a thin layer of acrylic paint on his hand. Paint got everywhere, the ball did not get a hand print, and we just threw in the towel! I might try it once more this week, by myself, and with Jackson in his high chair. We’ll see!! (and I’ll let you know how it goes)
