While watching all those new commercials that awesome Super Bowl Game this past Sunday, my friends and I enjoyed some delicious Super Bowl snacks. I love to make appetizers…they’re just easy and oh so yummy! This year I made buffalo chicken bites and guacamole salsa (not to be eaten together, in case you were confused). I LOVE dips of any kind, especially when there is avocado involved. The nice thing about this one is that the avocado doesn’t get brown because it’s pretty well blended and there is a tad of lime juice involved.
To make guacamole salsa, you’ll need
- 1 green tomato
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 thick slice of red onion
- 1 T minced garlic
- half of a jalapeno (or more if you like it spicy)
- salt to taste
- a splash of lime juice
Next step (really the only step) is to put all ingredients into a blender or food processor. I used my Tupperware Quick Chef (seriously the BEST product they make).
After I popped the lid on and gave it a few swirls, I was left with this!
Sorry! I know it’s not the best picture. I need to get better at taking a good picture of my final product. See how finely blended the salsa gets? It tastes amazing, and I’d like to think that it’s pretty healthy for you too (way better than cheese dip unfortunately). I think all girls are suckers for cheese dip, don’t you? What yummy treats did you make this Super Bowl Sunday?
